SSCNC Rescue

Every year, through no fault of their own, Standard Schnauzers find themselves in need of new homes. Despite their owners' best efforts, unforeseen circumstances like illness, job loss, relocation, or divorce can force difficult rehoming decisions. Heartbreaking situations, such as puppy mill raids, abandonment, or abuse and neglect cases, can also leave Standard Schnauzers in need of a loving new start.

While we receive many reports about Standard Schnauzers in shelters, we often discover that the dogs are actually miniature schnauzers. We work closely with local shelters, other all-breed rescue contacts and breeders to ensure that no schnauzer languishes in a shelter once it is brought to our attention.

SSCNC Rescue puts the best interest of the dog first; so you may feel as if you, as a perspective new owner, are being scrutinized, but it is simply our goal to ensure that every dog that comes to us as a Rescue or a re-home request finds their "fur ever" home. Rescue also works with the original owners and breeders to help find new homes.

All SSCNC members are committed to supporting our rescue efforts. When we learn that one of our "family members" needs help, we rally together to provide aid and assistance. We also collaborate with other rescue organizations to ensure that our dogs return to loving homes as soon as possible.

While the rescue process can be lengthy, we're grateful that we don't receive many calls about Standard Schnauzers in need. This allows us to focus on each dog's unique situation and provide the care and attention they deserve.
